Atlantic Avenue Bridge - ~$65,000,000 contract - NYC DOT

This project focused on the extensive rehabilitation of the Atlantic Avenue Viaduct spanning over the Long Island Rail Road. The scope included crucial retrofits such as cross brace and transverse transfer beam enhancements to elevate the seismic resilience of the structure. The comprehensive efforts involved the complete removal and restoration of the roadway concrete deck slab and barriers, revitalization of structural steel, and restoration of the stone masonry façade.

The project extended to upgrading and retrofitting steel columns and foundations at the Long Island Railroad track level, in addition to the installation of new roadway lighting, traffic controls, and striping. The existing stone façade underwent detailed repointing, restoration, and rehabilitation processes.

Execution adhered to NYC DOT OCMC guidelines, managing lane closures, pedestrian pathways, and motorist diversions in the densely populated Brooklyn area. Prioritizing the preservation and uninterrupted flow of traffic remained a paramount focus throughout the project, contributing to its successful and safe completion.
