Replacement of 3rd Ave Bridge- ~$10,000,000 contract - MNR Railroad

This design-build project involved the complete demolition and reconstruction of the bridge structures over the extremely active MNR New Haven Line rail corridor in the City of Mount Vernon the 3rd Avenue Bridge. Work includes electric relocation of the MNR power/signal cables adjacent to the active tracks, bridge abutment modifications, new bridge superstructure, abutment, drilled mini-caissons and tiebacks. Street hardscape included Texas barrier parapet walls with ornamental fencing, full roadway reconstruction at the north and south side approaches with associated ADAcompliant sidewalks, curbs and pedestrian ramps under full MPT stipulations. New street utilities installed including 12” gas mains, 6 conduit electric ductbanks, storm and sewer pipe connections, catch basins, traffic controls and street lighting.
